Paul Kaufman was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and entered the military service at age 17. He was subsequently sent by the U.S. Army to Virginia Military Institute for undergraduate studies. Paul was commissioned as an officer and served in numerous combat assignments, including the 3rd Infantry Division, Korea and the 5th Special Forces Group in Viet Nam. Paul has served at all levels of command throughout his Army career, from platoon sergeant to battalion commander. He has attended command and staff schools and received his LLB law degree from the University of North Carolina while stationed as a commissioned officer at Ft. Bragg, NC. During his almost 29 years of military service Paul was awarded a total of 27 decorations and awards for valor and exceptional service. He holds the Legion of Merit (with clusters). Paul retired as a Lt. Colonel (G-3), US Army.
Upon his retirement from the Army, Paul became inactive with the North Carolina Bar. He attended Allstate's Claim School and School of Estamatics and went to work for Allstate Claims Department as an evaluator and claims supervisor. Paul was also employed by State Farm Insurance Company, attended their claims schools, and evaluated State Farm's claims at a high level of exposure within the state of North Carolina. When Paul moved to Florida, he worked as a Claim Examiner for USAA Insurance and worked extensively as a senior claims examiner and litigation supervisor. Paul Kaufman has attended various claims training schools and is exceptionally well-versed in insurance coverage, liability, damages, negligence, and related negligence issues.
